Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves was spotted in Chile over the weekend, in the capital Santiago, to discuss the possibility of a new film with the flamboyant Chilean millionaire Leonardo Farkas.
When stopped outside the San Cristobal Tower hotel, where he was staying, the 44-year-old Canadian actor said he was invited by Farkas to Chile to discuss doing a new comedy together.
Farkas is a local mining mogul and is well-known for leaving enormous tips at restaurants and throwing out money on the streets in Chile's poorer quarters.
[Keanu Reeves, Actor]:
"Yeah, we were talking about making a film together and he showed me a great time the past couple of days, I met some great people. It's my first time in Chile and it was absolutely extraordinary - just a good time."
Local media said the two-day trip had included a ride in one of Farkas' private helicopters, a few pisco sour cocktails on the beach at the nearby Zapallar seaside resort and then dinner at an Andean ski resort.
Reeves is known for his offbeat movie choices. Since his success with the Matrix Triology, he laid pretty quiet until December last year until he made another box-office hit with sci-fi flick "The Day the Earth Stood Still".
Thanks to some digging through the CBC archives, this clip of a young Keanu Reeves reporting on the first annual Canadian International Teddy Bear Convention for "Going Great" has surfaced on YouTube:
He looks pretty cute, but I'm not so sure about his journalistic style. When he asks a kid, "What do your friends think about you collecting bears?", he does so with this accusatory tone, followed by an evil chuckle. No wonder the child gets defensive in his reply: "They don't mind. It's just collecting - it's not as if I play with them! They know I'm not the kind of kid to really play with them!"
Er, yeah. Follow this with a scene in which Reeves grabs a huge stuffed bear and pretends it's attacking his face, and you have the makings of a wicked amateur horror movie.

Cameron Diaz stuffed a whole burger in her mouth to impress Keanu Reeves while on a date. The 'My Sister's Keeper' actress - who has recently been seen enjoying evenings with actors Jude Law, Leonardo DiCaprio and Jason Lewis - bemused onlookers at Los Angeles' Whisper Lounge restaurant with her unique flirting technique, showing the 'Speed' star how much food she could cram into her jaws. A source said:
"They looked very cosy. Cameron was stuffing her burger in her mouth and playing up to the fact she has a wide mouth. Keanu was laughing - it was strange to see him giggling like that as he's regarded as a bit serious."
The pair - who played lovers in 1996 movie 'Feeling Minnesota' - enjoyed cocktails at the eatery before walking arm-in-arm to a nearby movie.
Earlier this week, it was claimed 36-year-old Cameron "couldn't stop touching" 'Sex and the City' actor Jason when they ate together at a sushi restaurant in Venice Beach. An onlooker said:
"Cameron and Jason were sitting in the corner of Shima totally wrapped up in one another. They couldn't stop touching each other. And we couldn't stop looking."
So WHO KNOWS?! You know what they do to single people in Hollywood. The press just links them up to every single person they come across. But Cameron is sure coming across some fantastic people lately isn't she? KEANU!!! Love him.
Do You Think Cameron and Keanu Would Make a Good Couple?

Keanu Reeves was out solo in LA yesterday, after supposedly going on a date with Cameron Diaz recently. The pair is rumored to have stopped off for burgers before taking in a film together. She's been linked to multiple Hollywood actors ever since her split with Paul Sculfor, but quiet Keanu is a change from her usual playboy taste. The actors played an onscreen couple in Feeling Minnesota back in 1996, but tell us - do you think Cameron and Keanu would make a good match?
